Small Business – Caramel & Co

This Gold Vegas Clutch can be purchased Here

This is one of my all time favourite clutches I used regularly as you can see above. It is the perfect size to carry your essentials when you are out and about. It is from a small business called Caramel & Co run by the lovely Susan de Medici. I love all her bags, so I thought it was fitting to share her story and business with you all.

Business name: Caramel & Co

Tell me about how your business came about?

Life can change in a couple of minutes.

Our lives changed on the morning of 14 June 2011, when our 2 ½ year old son, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). After 3½ years of chemotherapy and hundreds of hospital visits, he completed his treatment on 16 August, 2014. He continues to have regular check ups and our cancer journey is never far from our minds.

Caramel x Co is our way of shouting to the world that life can chance in a couple of minutes. We need to dream big and believe in ourselves because anything is possible. Caramel x Co helps women on the run look and feel good with simple, classic and affordable bags.

Tell us a bit about yourself?

I’m a Brisbane mum with three beautiful children who loves fashion, blue and white homewares, fresh flowers and a tidy house. I’m at my happiest on the beach with my family and I continually look at how I can do things better to ensure my children grow up feeling loved, supported and guided.

What do you sell or service do you offer?

Simple, classic and affordable handbags and jewellery for women on the run.

Where are you located?

How long have you been in business?

Just over 1 year.

Do you make custom orders?

Yes, I often receive emails from boyfriends and husbands who ask for help in specifically tailoring a gift and gift wrapping it for a loved one.

What do you love most about having your own business?

The flexibility so I can juggle being a mum, wife and business owner. I can respond to emails and pack orders in the morning, and then pop up to school to help with reading, class excursions and assist with school activities. Its crazy busy, but I love what I do, so make it work.

Do you have anyone else that work for you?

Not at this stage, but exciting things are happening in 2017 for Caramel x Co.
