My first In The Spotlight – Fellow Blogger is Kirsten and her Blog is Kirsten & Co. I’ve been connected with Kirsten mainly through her Instagram account and now with her great Blog. I had the privilege of meeting this lovely lady when I attended a fundraiser event she organised on the 5 November.
This fun fundraiser she put together perfectly was for The Pyjama Foundation which is an organisation that offers a ‘Love of Learning’ program to children in foster care. Kirsten put together this #CoffeeWithKirsten . I had a fantastic afternoon meeting some lovely ladies with lots of laughs. Well done Kirsten, it was a relaxing afternoon you should be very proud. I learnt many things from her that day and I related so much with her own personal story that she shared. I look forward to her next event as I have read that plans are already underway. Saturday 22 April 2017 Champagne (and hopefully some shopping) With Kirsten is happening!
Here is a quick snippet of the Coffee With Kirsten day.

Tell me about how your blog came about?
I launched Kirsten and co. very quietly back in 2011. I had given up my teaching career to raise my own two children. In between the school runs, the lunch making and the never ending laundry folding I read a few blogs. I thought writing one of my own would be a good creative outlet and that’s how Kirsten and co. began.
Tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m a fashion loving, cake inhaling, kale avoiding life and style blogger. Denim with stretch, a bold lipstick, the beach and a good cup of coffee are pretty much my favourite things. Oh and my husband and kids, are right up there too.
What is your blog about?
It’s a life and style blog encouraging you to live a fun and fabulous life. Fresh content is delivered every Monday (life motivation and inspiration), Wednesday (style advice) and Friday (left open for whatever crops up during the week)
Where are you located?
Do you do this on the side of a 9-5 job?
Kirsten and co. is a business. It work 5-6 days a week running it.
What do you love most about having your own blog?
I love writing but I absolutely adore the Kirsten and co. community. Chatting to the readers via social media and/or in person is without a doubt the most rewarding part of blogging.
Do you have anyone else that writes for you?
No, it’s just me.
What are 3-5 other blogs you love to read?
Do you have any tips for others starting out with blogging?
Be transparent and honest with your readers. If a brand sends you an item to review or feature, disclose that information to your community. Tell them it’s a gifted item or a sponsored (paid) post. Doing so will demonstrate your authenticity and your readers will quickly learn that you are honest, reliable and trustworthy.
What do you do for fun?
Shop (not even kidding – it’s pretty much the only cardio I do!), go to the beach with my family, take photos, meet girlfriends for a coffee (AM) or a cocktail (PM)
Who takes your beautiful photos for you?
I take them myself using either my iPhone or Olympus camera
Where can people find you online (Instagram,Facebook,Twitter) ?
Instagram: @kirstenandco #sharedmystyle
Facebook: /kirstenandco I host a Facebook Live chat there every Friday night at 6pm QLD time. It’s so much fun – BYO cocktail and sense of humour 😉
Twitter: @kirstenandco but I’m hardly ever there. Mainly because I find it a bit of a challenge to say anything in 140 characters or less.
Name 3 of your favorite Instagram Accounts you love to follow?
Name 3 Small Businesses do you love to support?
What camera do you use to take your images with?
I use my iPhone or my Olympus OM-D E-M10 but….I’m about to upgrade to the new Olympus PEN E-PL 8 Delivery is due any day now and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
What are your favourite photo apps you use?
The only photo app I use is Instagram. I upload my photos taken on my camera via wifi, then tweak them slightly using brightness, contrast and saturation settings and that’s it!
Its been lovely to get to know Kirsten through the questions she has answered above.
Thank You Kirsten for taking the time and I look forward to attending your next event.
